Are you an experienced vet with an interest in dentistry, cardiology or laparoscopy? Looking to work in a supportive practice with new owners and a new refurb paying up to £60,000? (FTE, DOE)
About Us:
Chester is a well-known historical city in the Northwest of England, renowned for its Roman city walls, 2-tier shopping streets and offers the best of both worlds with a bustling city centre whilst be surrounding by beautiful countryside. It is also less than an hour from both Liverpool and Manchester. The practice itself is located on the outskirts of the city centre to the north and is easily accessible via local transport routes.
The practice is undergoing some very exciting times with the new owners implementing fantastic changes to push the practice to new heights, including using AI
The team is currently made up of 7 vets, 7 RVN's and 3 receptionists who are led by our practice manager. Within the clinical team we have a variety of different interests, which would allow you to join the practice and gain a wealth of knowledge unavailable at other practices. Our caseload is varied with a high proportion of insured pets and proactive clients.
As a team we enjoy socialising outside of work, whether that be sporting or charity events, long dog walks, conquering the escape rooms or just drinks in the pub, which we find helps with the togetherness of the team.
The role:
We are ideally looking for an experienced veterinary surgeon who is confident with routine surgery and consults. An interest in Cardiology, dentistry or laparoscopy would be an advantage but is not essential. We are looking for you to join us on a full-time basis, but we can consider different hours and are open to discuss how this would work. Ideally you will also be open to or learning and working with AI.
We work Monday to Friday 8:30am to 6:30pm and Saturday mornings 9am to 12:30pm (Saturdays will be worked on a 1 in 5 basis. With no OOH or Sundays.
On a day-to-day basis we have a tightly structured diary to ensure that all our colleagues finish on time, which includes dedicated phone call and paperwork time and fully blocked out lunch breaks. We run 20-minute sick pet consults, and we have nurses on hand all day to assist in consults as needed, whilst also having sufficient nursing cover to provide full nurse consults for pets and owners throughout the day.

- You will join the practice at a very exciting time with new owners at the helm with ambitious plans to help the practice reach fantastic new heights
- Join a pioneering practice looking at ways that AI can support you and allow you more time to dedicate to your patients and can look at supporting you with CPD to use these innovative technologies
- This role is ideally on a full-time basis and will include 1 in 5 Saturdays (9am till 12:30pm)
- Part time can be considered - please let us know if this is what you are looking for
- No OOH or Sundays
- The practice has just undergone large refurbishment
- This role is ideally for a veterinary surgeon with experience in dentistry, cardiology or laparoscopy however if you are an experienced consult only vet or have another special interest please do still apply as we would love to chat to you
- You will be supported by a large clinical team with a wealth of experience who can support your development
- Certificates and CPD are encouraged and supported
- Consult time of 20 minutes
