About the Role:
As a Wellbeing Support Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting students both in and out of the classroom. You will work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement with learning. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and can build strong, trusting relationships with young people.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs
Promote emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour strategies
Support students in managing challenges such as anxiety, anger, and low self-esteem
Assist with de-escalation techniques and restorative practices
Contribute to individual support plans and monitor student progress
Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs (school or alternative setting)
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport quickly
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
Resilience and confidence in managing challenging behaviour
A genuine passion for supporting young people's wellbeing and development
