Together, were building a better future.About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Window and Door Fitter (Installation Technician) to join our Planned Works UPVC team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining various window and door systems, including UPVC, Aluminium, Composite, and Wood, in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.You will work in a team of two, delivering high quality service to our customers in their homes. A friendly and polite manner is as important as competence and high standards of work in your trade.Well equip you with:A fully equipped hybrid van and fuel cardAn electronic tablet to access scheduled jobs and company newsA mobile phone and work clothingKey Responsibilities:Install and maintain window and door systems (UPVC, Aluminium, Composite, and Wood) in line with building codes, legislation, and regulationsAccurately measure for glazing, windows, and doors, following drawings and plans for installationPerform scheduled and reactive maintenance services on window glazing systems, door systems, and fixturesConduct interior and exterior trim repairs to cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in homesWhat Were Looking ForMust haves:Relevant qualification/certifications or minimum 5 years experience in window and door fittingExperience/knowledge of UPVC, Aluminium, Composite, and Wood systems across residential, commercial, and industrial buildingsAbility to take accurate measurements and follow technical drawings/plansExperience in scheduled/reactive maintenance on glazing and door systemsAbility to repair and maintain doors, windows, and fixturesPhysically fit to undertake daily dutiesAbility to read blueprints and technical drawingsGood numeracy skills for calculating quantitiesRelevant City & Guilds or NVQ or equivalent carpentry trade experienceSound knowledge of legislation and Codes of Practice (construction, building regulations, health & safety)Reasonable literacy and numeracy skillsFull valid manual UK driving licenceAbility to work independently and as part of a teamClear and effective communication skillsCommitment to excellent customer service standardsAbility to manage time, prioritise workload, and meet deadlinesWillingness to participate in the out-of-hours on-call rotaNice to haves:Experience across multiple building types (residential, commercial, industrial)Strong organisational skills and flexibilityExperience in social housing/local authority.
