Business Analyst
As a Business Analyst at the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) you will join an established and supportive community of Business Analysts and work across all areas of projects and service lifecycle as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will work together with IPO colleagues, partner organisations and/or suppliers to ensure that approaches and outcomes are fit for purpose by meeting business needs, user needs and IPO standards. You will also be modelling processes for use within the project and for post-implementation reference. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals to join our team at a time where the IPO has set out to help people grow the UK economy by providing an IP system that encourages investment in creativity and innovation.
This role will be carried out in-line with IPO Hybrid working arrangements where staff are currently expected to spend at least 20% of their time working onsite from one of our offices. This role is based in our Newport Office.
The requirement for attendance at an office location can vary by role so we would encourage candidates to discuss working arrangements with the recruiting manager to agree a reasonable balance between working from home and the office.
Translate business problems and user needs into a set of detailed requirements
Document, critically review and model business processes and business rules
Utilise a 'toolkit' of techniques and methodologies i.e. user stories, use case diagrams, SWOT analysis, mind maps, power-interest grid to capture, investigate and analyse data and information.
Identify, shape and specify business options to enhance existing services or build new services
Contribute to the IPO's Business Analyst community to share knowledge
Background in Business Analysis or Process Improvement
Knowledge and/or understanding of Business Analysis principles and techniques
Experience with project delivery methodologies
A BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis is desirable.

Successful candidates must pass a disclosure and barring security check and if successful you must also hold, or be willing to obtain, a higher Security Clearance .
For this role the successful individual will need to have consistently lived in the UK for a minimum 5 years in order to meet the relevant security clearance.
