About the Company
We’re working with a rapidly growing plant business with one of the largest and best-equipped workshops in the South. They’ve built a strong reputation for doing things properly - investing in equipment, diagnostics and their engineers.
This is not a “sit behind a desk” management role — they need a hands-on Workshop Manager who knows their way around machinery and can lead from the front.
The Role
This is a hands-on Workshop Manager / Chargehand / Foreman position - ideal for a senior engineer ready to step up or someone already leading a team but still wanting to stay on the tools.
You’ll be responsible for:
Overseeing day-to-day workshop operations Supporting and mentoring engineers and apprentices Acting as the technical “go-to” and safety net for the team Ensuring work is completed to a high standard and in line with company processes Getting involved in diagnostics, fault finding and complex repairs when required Maintaining strong Health & Safety and workshop standards You’ll be working closely with the Depot Manager, with mobile engineers operating externally.
