You are often the adult who proves that learning can feel safe again.When it works, it changes everything.The role itselfThis is a travelling home tutor role. Youll deliver tuition in pupils homes, working them through their curriculum at a pace and style that fits them.Youll be supporting children of any age, so you must be confident with curriculum delivery across different stages, and flexible enough to adapt quickly when youre working outside a traditional classroom structure.You will work with pupils with SEND and SEMH needs, including some who may present with challenging behavior's. You must be comfortable, confident, and emotionally steady in that environment.What the role entails day to dayTravel to pupils homes and deliver 1:1 sessionsPlan and teach curriculum-based learning that matches the pupils age, ability and goalsAdapt the curriculum when needed to make learning accessible and achievableBuild consistent routines that support engagement and progressUse calm, confident behavior support strategies where neededCommunicate professionally with parents, including handling difficult conversations when requiredTrack progress and adjust approaches to keep the pupil moving forwardBuild a meaningful, trusting relationship that helps the child re-engage with educationThe type of person we wantThis role needs someone who can be warm and human, but also confident and unshakeable.You will be:Calm under pressure, especially when behavior escalates or engagement is lowConfident speaking with parents, including tackling difficult conversations professionallyPatient, empathetic, caring, and consistentThe type who can connect with a child quickly, without forcing itResilient enough to hold boundaries kindly, and keep showing up with the same steady energyMotivated by impact, not by an easy dayIf youre easily thrown off or you avoid conflict, this wont be the right fit.
