Contract: Flexible working pattern, temporary ongoing supply
Pay: £88.94 - £95 per day (paid via PAYE - no umbrella company fees)

About the Role
As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant in Sheffield, you will provide consistent one-to-one support to a named pupil with special educational needs within a mainstream primary setting. The 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with the class teacher to ensure the child can fully access the curriculum while feeling supported, understood and included.
Pupils may present with needs such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH or speech and language difficulties. This Sheffield-based 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant position requires patience, adaptability and a nurturing approach to help the child build confidence, regulate emotions and develop positive relationships with peers.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide dedicated 1:1 support within a mainstream classroom in Sheffield
* Adapt tasks and learning materials to suit individual needs
* Support EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
* Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
* Promote independence and social development
* Liaise effectively with teachers, SENCOs and parents
* Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times
Candidate Requirements
* Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a mainstream setting
* Understanding of Autism, ADHD, SEMH or communication needs
* Calm, patient and resilient attitude
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
