Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support (Additional Needs)

Location: Scunthorpe

Contract: Supply – Short-term & Long-term Opportunities

Reed Education is seeking Teaching Assistants who are dedicated to supporting children’s learning and development to work 1:1 with pupils with additional needs across a range of schools in Scunthorpe and the surrounding areas.

The Role

In this role, you will provide tailored 1:1 support to pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to access the curriculum, build confidence and develop independence within the school environment. Needs may include:

• Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
• Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
• Complex medical needs
• Social, emotional and behavioural needs

What We’re Looking For

We are keen to hear from candidates who are:

• Dedicated to supporting children’s learning and development, particularly those with additional needs
• Experienced in supporting children with additional needs (essential)
• Experienced in school settings (highly desirable)
• From transferable backgrounds such as care, support work, youth work or healthcare (considered)
• Patient, compassionate and resilient
• Confident in building positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
• Able to obtain an enhanced DBS and register on the DBS Update Service
