The Role We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Account Director to join one of our Top 10 accounts, where everyone plays to their strengths delivering award‑winning campaigns. We have developed strong client relationships spanning over 7 years working with their UK & European Teams supporting on Strategy, Creative, Advertising, Channel and Product marketing and Measurement. As a Social & Influence Director, you are the driving force behind our campaigns, playing a central role in delivering our social & influence marketing proposition across one of our biggest clients. You will manage your workload autonomously, taking full responsibility for the quality and end‑to‑end execution of multiple social and influencer programmes. In this role, you will act as a role model for Ogilvy’s values, building trusted client relationships and communicating effectively across internal teams. You will be accountable for resolving problems on your projects, managing timelines, and proactively communicating your status to senior leadership. A key part of your role will be to support the growth of junior team members by providing constructive feedback, sharing knowledge, and acting as an informal mentor. We are looking for a creative problem‑solver with a passion for the industry and a proven ability to lead projects with confidence and a positive attitude. Key Responsibilities Campaign Management
Manage the day‑to‑day running of multiple social and influencer campaigns from start to finish, including identifying and vetting talent, negotiating contracts and fees, implementing the campaign across relevant channels, overseeing delivery and ensuring quality, and reporting on performance against agreed KPIs. Serve as the first point of escalation for your projects, resolving day‑to‑day problems independently by consulting with stakeholders as needed and escalating to senior leadership only when appropriate.
Strategic Contribution
Actively contribute to social & influencer strategy by recommending objectives, targets, and creative concepts; confidently present creative solutions and campaign reports to internal and external stakeholders. Identify and nurture client‑appropriate talent opportunities and relationships to help deliver the social & influencer programmes for clients.
Client Management
Act as the primary point of contact for your clients, managing expectations, providing timely updates and advice and solutions. Build long‑term client relationships by delivering work that meets agreed objectives, deadlines, and taking responsibility for the quality of all client outputs in your remit. Communicate effectively across internal teams (media, PR, data & insights), proactively sharing updates and coordinating timelines to ensure smooth handovers and integrated campaign success. Effectively prioritise tasks across all projects, proactively communicating your status to senior leadership, reassuring them that work is on track and meeting deadlines.
Resource Management
Manage campaign budgets and timelines, ensuring projects are delivered profitably and on schedule. Proactively communicate about your workload and capacity to your line Director. Support the growth of junior team members by providing constructive feedback, sharing knowledge, and acting as an informal mentor to aid their development.
Skills for Your Growth to Business Director
Strategic Development: Move from contributing to strategy to leading the strategic design, defining industry‑leading approaches. Commercial Acumen: Develop a strong understanding of account profitability, identify opportunities for organic growth within your clients, and contribute to new business pitches. Senior Client Counsel: Evolve from a trusted day‑to‑day contact into a strategic advisor for mid‑level clients, providing proactive counsel on industry trends and challenges. Team Leadership: Build on your informal mentoring to develop formal line management skills, becoming a role model who can inspire and lead a team.
What You Will Need
A passion for social and influencer marketing with a minimum of two years’ experience, preferably in a fast‑paced agency environment. Proven experience in autonomously managing multiple social and influencer campaigns from start to finish, including budget and timeline management. A track record of building strong client relationships and proactively managing their expectations. Excellent problem‑solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions and escalates appropriately. Experience in guiding or mentoring junior team members is highly desirable. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to facilitate meetings and collaborate effectively across teams. A commitment to your own growth, with a keen interest in keeping up‑to‑date with social and influencer marketing trends and sharing knowledge with colleagues.
