Account Handler (Commercial / Personal Lines)

A well-established national insurance broker with offices in Gloucester is looking to recruit an experienced Commercial Account Handler to join its encouraging and ambitious Leisure team.

The Role

You’ll be joining a highly experienced and effective broking office, working within a tight-knit, supportive, and vibrant Leisure team that prides itself on delivering outstanding client service.


As a Commercial Account Handler, you will manage a portfolio of commercial leisure clients while supporting peers and working closely with Regional Account Managers and Account Executives.


The role covers the full annual insurance cycle and offers the chance to develop your technical and client-facing skills while contributing to both retention and growth.


This role is well suited to a competent Commercial insurance professional who can hit the ground running and has experience handling complex or large premium accounts.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of commercial clients, ensuring their insurance needs are met effectively and efficiently
  • Handle policy renewals, ensuring timely and accurate processing
  • Process mid-term adjustments (MTAs) and policy endorsements
  • Identify and act on new business opportunities where appropriate
  • Respond to client queries promptly and professionally, delivering exceptional customer service
  • Work closely with Regional Account Managers, Account Executives, and internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, insurers, and stakeholders
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and product knowledge
  • Assist with client retention strategies and support wider team objectives


What’s Needed to Be Considered?

  • Previous experience in a similar Commercial Account Handling role
  • Experience within the insurance industry (broker or insurer background)
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional telephone manner
  • Self-motivated, ambitious, and eager to learn and progress
  • High level of professionalism and ethical conduct
  • ACII or Cert CII qualifications would be advantageous
  • Eligible to work in the UK
