Accountant, Harrogate, £35,000-£45,000

An established, owner-managed professional property company based in Harrogate is seeking an experienced Accountant to join their friendly and collaborative team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role within a growing business. Youll work closely with the Directors and external Auditors, manage one direct report, and contribute to improving financial processes across the organisation.

This is a full-time position offering hybrid working (one day per week from home). Slightly reduced hours can also be considered for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Day-to-day bookkeeping
• Bank reconciliations
• Processing and paying invoices
• Chasing customer payments
• Submitting quarterly VAT returns
• Implementing new finance processes and procedures to improve efficiency
• Liaising with external auditors (who manage payroll, year-end accounts and tax)

Requirements

• Previous accountancy experience within an SME
• Strong IT skills (experience with Xero highly desirable)
• Ability to work independently and use your own initiative
• Team player with a collaborative approach
