Legal Accounts Assistant

Location: London (Office‑based, 5 days per week) Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 Hours: 9:30am – 5:30pm, Monday to Friday Contract: Permanent

A well‑established London law firm is seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Accounts Assistant to join its collaborative and long‑standing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 2+ years’ experience in a legal or professional services environment who is looking to develop their skills within a supportive and high‑performing accounts department.

Key Responsibilities

Preparing, revising, and issuing invoices and credit notes, ensuring VAT accuracy and compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements Managing client billing portals, including uploads, rate maintenance, and resolving queries Uploading multi‑jurisdictional agent fee notes, ensuring correct VAT and currency treatment Performing ad hoc client ledger reconciliations and raising pro formas Processing client receipts and payments Working with accounts receivable/credit control to follow up on aged invoices and resolve client queries Acting as a point of contact for fee earners, PAs, and clients regarding billing and invoice matters Providing general support to the accounts team, including holiday cover and ad hoc finance duties What We’re Looking For

Minimum 2 years’ experience in a legal finance or professional services environment Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (VLOOKUP and pivot tables desirable) A methodical, accurate approach with excellent attention to detail Confident communication skills and the ability to liaise with senior stakeholders Professional, resilient, and customer‑focused attitude Why Join?
