We are excited to announce two new opportunities for Administrative Assistant Apprentices to join our Employment and Skills team.
These roles are perfect for individuals eager to kick-start their career, gain a nationally recognised qualification, and build real-world experience in a supportive, purpose-driven environment. As an apprentice within the Inclusive Economy, Skills & Culture Directorate at the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, you will play a meaningful part in work that directly improves opportunities, skills and life chances for people across the region.
Role 1: Adult Skills Team
In this role, you will be part of a team dedicated to helping adults across West Yorkshire gain new skills, access employment opportunities and progress in their careers. As Administrative Assistant Apprentice, you will support the delivery and impact of devolved and delegated Adult Skills funding as we move towards an integrated settlement.
Role 2: Healthy Working Life Team
This role supports the delivery of the Healthy Working Life Programme, a joint initiative between the West Yorkshire Combined Authority and the NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board. The programme oversees the region’s £37 million work and health plan, designed in partnership with residents and employers. Its mission is to boost the local economy and support economically inactive residents - many living with long-term health conditions, into secure, fulfilling and well-paid employment.

The Role
Reporting into the Project Lead, your key responsibilities will include:
· Provide administrative support including booking meetings, co-ordination, and management of diaries, managing and responding to emails and written correspondence, preparation of agendas and producing minutes of meetings as required.
· Establish, develop, and maintain filing, record keeping and administration systems, whether manual or computerised including maintaining databases of key contacts.
· Maintain financial and budgetary records, place orders on the financial management system and process invoices for payment.

About You
You will have the following key skills, attributes, education, and experience:
· Excellent communication and time management skills, and ability to work on own initiative.
· Competent user of Word, Excel and Microsoft packages.
· Ability to exercise own judgement to solve problems or to escalate as appropriate.
· Willingness to undertake training and exams to complete the requirements for business and administration apprentice standards (to level 3).
· Educated to GCSE level - with 5 grade A-C, 4 or above / level 2 English and Maths.
