Advisor - Water Resources Resilience - 31494

The Environment Agency is committed to fostering an inclusive workforce that reflects the communities we serve. We value diversity and aim to create an environment where everyone can thrive.

It’s an exciting time to be involved in planning England’s water resources. Our water supply faces ongoing pressures, with recent drought conditions and the driest start to a year since 1976. We have published the National Framework for Water Resources to secure our future water supply. As part of this effort, you will play a crucial role in its success.

Initially released in March 2020, the framework pioneered planning for resilient water resources amid climate change, droughts, and population growth, along with environmental enhancements. The 2025 update emphasizes urgent water resource challenges and promotes integrated planning at all levels.

Your role will involve supporting the delivery and implementation of the National Framework, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders including Defra, regulators, water companies, and sectors like energy and agriculture.

The Team
