Albany Beck are hiring an AI / full stack Engineer to support a modernisation of aspects of a new application and expanding it to support additional customer types, customer journeys and new functionality.


Key Responsibilities


  • Hands-on, writing and delivering code into production, while contributing to the overall architecture and design of a microservices-based system.
  • Understand business needs alongside engineering and non-functional requirements to help support ongoing growth.
  • Help drive and reinforce the engineering culture across teams.
  • Work closely with a globally distributed team, coordinating work across regions when needed.
  • Proactively identify and remove blockers, highlight risks early, and communicate issues to programme management.
  • Spot inefficiencies in existing processes and find practical, scalable ways to improve them.


Essential Skills & Experience


  • Solid experience as a software engineer, with a strong background in designing, building, and deploying backend services.
  • Experience working in a microservices environment and delivering production-ready code.
  • Comfortable releasing changes to production frequently.
  • Hands-on experience building and deploying RESTful APIs.
  • Experience designing database schemas and working with PostgreSQL.


Nice to Have


  • Java experience, ideally with recent versions.
  • Familiarity with containers and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes, and experience with GCP is a plus.
  • Experience building UI applications using React.
  • Previous experience working in financial services, particularly banking.
