Lead Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Installation Engineer
Stockport / Northwest (Field-Based)
£45,000 £50,000 DOE + Overtime
Full-Time | Permanent

The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Lead Installation Engineer to join a well-established and growing business within the air conditioning and refrigeration sector.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone confident in managing installations from survey through to completion, while leading and supporting junior engineers on-site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and commission air conditioning systems across domestic and commercial sites
  • Conduct site surveys and liaise directly with clients when needed
  • Plan and manage installations from start to finish
  • Order materials and manage project requirements
  • Diagnose faults and resolve technical issues efficiently if required
  • Lead, mentor, and support junior engineers
  • Ensure all work is completed to high health & safety standards
  • Maintain strong communication with clients and internal teams
  • Work on refrigeration systems (desirable but not essential)

Requirements

  • Experience within air conditioning / refrigeration (8 years not essential)
  • F-Gas certified & City & Guilds 2079 qualified
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Strong installation, fault-finding, and diagnostic experience
  • Experience leading or supervising engineers on-site
  • Confident in site surveys and project planning
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable:

  • IPAF / PASMA
  • Refrigeration experience
