Air Conditioning Installation & Service Engineer Location
Midlands or Newport (with travel and occasional overnight stays required)
Salary
£38,000 - £47,000 per year (depending on experience)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer to carry out a mix of installation, maintenance, and servicing works across commercial sites. This role involves travel and participation in an on-call rota.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on air conditioning systems, including split systems, VRV/VRF, and chillers
* Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to ensure optimal system performance
* Install air conditioning systems, from split units through to VRF systems
* Assist with AHU and chiller installations (desirable)
* Respond to client callouts within agreed SLAs
* Maintain compliance with health & safety standards and site-specific requirements
* Liaise with clients and internal teams to ensure smooth service delivery
* Produce accurate technical and service reports
* Identify and quote for additional works where required
* Participate in a 24-hour call-out rota (standby rota applies)
Skills & Qualifications
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (or equivalent)
* F-Gas Certification (Category 1 / 2079)
* Minimum 5+ years' experience in air conditioning installation and service
* Strong experience working on commercial HVAC systems
* Good knowledge of building regulations and HVAC standards
* Familiar with health & safety practices (risk assessments, COSHH, etc.)
* Full UK Driving Licence
