Air Freight Business Development Manager - China Trade Lanes

Location: UK (Hybrid/Remote options available)

A global freight forwarding organisation is seeking an experienced Air Freight Business Development Manager to develop and grow its China trade lanes. This is a senior commercial role focused on driving new business, strengthening carrier relationships, and expanding air freight volumes between China and the UK/Europe.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and grow air freight business focused on China import and export trade lanes
• Identify, target, and secure new customers across key verticals
• Manage and grow existing strategic accounts
• Build strong relationships with airlines, overseas partners, and agents in China
• Work closely with operations teams to ensure service excellence
• Negotiate rates, contracts, and service agreements
• Represent the business at industry events and client meetings

Requirements

• Proven experience in air freight business development / sales within freight forwarding
• Strong knowledge of China trade lanes (import & export)
• Existing customer portfolio highly desirable
• Fluent in Chinese (Mandarin) - essential
• Strong commercial and negotiation skills
• Self-motivated, target-driven and relationship-focused
