You will work closely with a range of stakeholders, including clinicians, executives, project managers and the wider Cancer Alliance, to scope new projects and provide high‑quality analytical support. You will present results to stakeholders, balancing evolving executive demands with long‑term projects, and you will manage analytical resources and delegate responsibilities when appropriate. Key Responsibilities
Scope and develop business intelligence products, such as self‑service dashboards and briefing documents. Communicate findings verbally and in written reports and visualisations. Respond to dynamic, time‑sensitive ad hoc intelligence requests from Alliance executives. Coordinate the deployment of analytical products to empower stakeholders on a self‑service basis. Lead delegated projects, identifying risks and issues, and making decisions in the best interest of the project. Pro‑actively manage stakeholder relationships, resolve conflicts through facilitation or other appropriate mechanisms. Maintain high standards of work, ensuring project delivery on time, to quality standards and cost effectiveness. Maintain project initiation documents and associated plans, holding regular team meetings to monitor progress and resources. Support other project managers and collaborate with analysts within the Greater Manchester system. Coordinate communication and data flows at local and regional levels. Manage training and workload of Band 5 analysts. Maintain system management of the GM Cancer presence within the GMHSCP Tableau environment. Plan equipment needs for the GM Cancer Information Function. Contribute to performance and governance strategies and implementation of improvement programmes. Reduce inefficiencies and maximise resource use across the service. Produce population‑focused reporting toward the GM Cancer Plan. Deliver delegated cancer analysis for GMHSCP, supporting assurance, commissioning, transformation, quality, safety, finance, policy and strategy development. Ensure clinical leadership is central to the delivery of all NHS England activities. Collaborate with national and regional executives to champion analysis and insight. Develop safe and functional data flows from cancer data sources to deliver a GM & GMEC system view.
Qualifications
Experience working in healthcare or a related discipline in an analytical capacity. Strong communication skills, capable of presenting analytical outputs to stakeholders at all levels. Robust experience in SQL and/or Python (data science experience preferred). Experience managing analytical resources and delegating responsibilities. Ability to balance dynamic work priorities, balancing executive demands with long‑term projects. Knowledge of data visualisation tools, particularly Tableau. A proven track record of delivering high‑quality analytical solutions on time and within budget. Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across Greater Manchester and the NHS.
