Associate Scientist – Analytical Development\n\nOxfordshire | £37,000–£40,000 | Full-time | Permanent\n\nAre you an early-career scientist looking to grow your analytical skills in a cutting-edge biopharmaceutical R&D environment? We’re hiring an Associate Scientist to join a collaborative and innovative team working at the forefront of mammalian cell line and expression system development. This is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on experience in analytical techniques who is ready to take the next step in their scientific career.\n\nAbout the Role\n\nAs an Associate Scientist in the Analytical Development team, you’ll support the design, development, and execution of analytical assays to help characterise therapeutic proteins.
You’ll contribute to method development, routine testing, and data interpretation across a range of experimental platforms, helping drive improvements in bioprocesses and product quality.\n\nThis role offers broad exposure to modern analytical technologies and collaborative research, with strong support for professional growth and training.\n\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\n\nSupporting the development and execution of analytical assays such as HPLC, UPLC, LC-MS, ELISA, and Western blotting.\n\nConducting experiments with precision and scientific rigour, ensuring data quality and reproducibility.\n\nContributing to the documentation of research findings and of SOPs and lab records.\n\nParticipating in lab operations including maintenance, equipment checks, and consumables management.\n\nCollaborating with team members to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.\n\nEngaging in group discussions and sharing scientific insights through presentations and data reviews.\n\nMaintaining high standards of health, safety, and quality in all lab work.\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\n\nWe’re seeking someone who is detail-oriented, curious, and ready to build a career in analytical sciences within a dynamic biotech environment.\n\nYou should have:\n\nA BSc or MSc in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related life sciences field.\n\nExperience with analytical techniques e.g., HPLC/UPLC, LCMS, ELISA – either through industry or academic research.\n\nA good understanding of laboratory practices, experimental design, and data analysis.\n\nA proactive, team-oriented approach with a strong willingness to learn and develop.\n\nBonus if you also bring:\n\nExperience with mammalian cell culture (e.g., CHO or HEK293).\n\nFamiliarity with automated or high-throughput lab systems.\n\nKnowledge of bioprocess development or protein characterisation workflows.\n\nSalary & Benefits\n\nSalary: £37,000 – £40,000, depending on experience\n\nLocation: Oxfordshire (onsite)\n\nBenefits:\n\nGenerous pension contribution\n\nPrivate healthcare\n\nPerformance-related bonus\n\nLearning and development support\n\nModern lab facilities and collaborative culture\n\nApply Now\n\nThis is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing team and gain experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
