The Role
As an Architect / Masterplanner, you will play a key role within the Placecraft team, supporting the delivery of strategic masterplans for high-profile developers, housebuilders, and innovative SMEs.
Projects range from urban extensions and new settlements to brownfield and greenfield developments, typically spanning 500 to over 5,000 homes.
Reporting to an Associate Partner, you will contribute to the design, vision, and technical delivery of major residential and mixed-use schemes.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support the preparation of strategic masterplans and placemaking strategies.
Develop compelling visions and narratives for new communities.
Undertake site analysis, capacity studies, and development frameworks.
Produce illustrative masterplans, parameter plans, and land budgets.
Prepare Design and Access Statements and Design Codes.
Contribute to Outline Planning and Reserved Matters submissions.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
Deliver high-quality design outputs across multiple project stages.
Requirements
Qualified Architect, Architectural Designer, or Urban Designer with relevant degrees.
Minimum of three years’ post-qualification experience in the UK residential sector.
Demonstrable experience working on large-scale masterplans.
Strong understanding of UK planning and masterplanning best practice.
Excellent communication, organisational, and design skills.
Proficiency in CAD, SketchUp, Adobe or Affinity Suite, and Microsoft Office.
Experience with Design Codes and Outline Planning stages is highly desirable.Why Apply?
