THE ROLE As a Cloud Architect within the SaaS organization, you will define and evolve the cloud architecture that underpins Temenos’ global SaaS platform. You will be responsible for designing secure, scalable, multi‑tenant, and highly resilient cloud environments that support mission‑critical banking workloads at scale. This role sits at the intersection of platform engineering, cloud operations, security, and product engineering. You will establish architectural standards, ensure operational excellence, and enable continuous delivery of Temenos SaaS offerings across global regions. The position requires deep expertise in hyperscaler cloud platforms, SaaS operational models, and financial services regulatory environments. RESPONSIBILITIES
Define and govern the target architecture for Temenos’ SaaS platform across multiple cloud regions and providers Design and optimize multi‑tenant cloud architectures ensuring scalability, isolation, and performance Establish architectural standards for reliability, resilience, disaster recovery (RTO/RPO), and high availability Lead cloud‑native modernization initiatives (containers, Kubernetes, microservices, service mesh) within the SaaS platform Architect Infrastructure‑as‑Code and automation frameworks to support consistent, repeatable global deployments Drive DevSecOps best practices, embedding security, compliance, and policy‑as‑code into the platform Ensure compliance with financial services regulatory requirements including data residency, encryption, and audit controls Partner with SRE and operations teams to define observability, monitoring, incident management, and performance engineering standards Lead cloud capacity planning, cost optimization (FinOps), and performance benchmarking initiatives Support SaaS product releases by ensuring architectural alignment and operational readiness Act as the architectural authority for cloud governance, risk management, and change control within the SaaS organization
SKILLS
Proven experience architecting enterprise‑grade SaaS platforms in AWS, Azure, or GCP Deep expertise in multi‑tenant design patterns and cloud isolation models Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration at scale Experience designing global, geo‑distributed architectures with active‑active or active‑passive models Strong understanding of SRE principles, SLAs, SLOs, error budgets, and production reliability engineering Expertise in Infrastructure‑as‑Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, etc.) and automation frameworks Advanced understanding of cloud security architecture, IAM, zero‑trust principles, secrets management, and encryption Experience implementing compliance controls in regulated environments (banking/financial services preferred) Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and platform engineering models Strong analytical skills with ability to balance scalability, cost, security, and performance trade‑offs Relevant cloud certifications preferred
