Architect/Architectural Technologist \n\nLocation: Birmingham\n Contract Type: Temporary\n Duration: 12 months\n Start Date: March 2026\n Hours: 37.5 per week\n Vetting Level: BPSS\n\nCompany Overview\n\nA leading global engineering, infrastructure and project management organisation delivering complex, nationally significant programmes across transportation, energy, defence and the built environment. The business provides integrated services across consultancy, engineering, design coordination and project delivery, working within highly collaborative multidisciplinary teams to deliver large scale infrastructure that supports long term economic and social growth.\n\nRole Overview\n\nAn opportunity has arisen for an Architect/Architectural Technologist to join a Birmingham based studio supporting a major rail infrastructure programme in the West Midlands. This contract role will contribute to the architectural design and technical delivery of a transformative rail project aimed at significantly improving connectivity across Birmingham and the wider region.\n\nThe successful contractor will work within a multidisciplinary environment, supporting the delivery of high quality architectural solutions aligned with transportation and rail requirements.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nContribute to architectural design and technical delivery for a large scale rail and transportation programme\n\nProduce high quality architectural drawings, schedules and specifications in line with project and client requirements\n\nWork collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including rail, building and engineering disciplines\n\nDevelop pragmatic, site responsive design solutions that consider context, climate and operational constraints\n\nSupport coordination, reporting and evaluation of design activity throughout the project lifecycle\n\nAssist in maintaining and promoting strong design quality and consistency across the programme\n\nCandidate Requirements\n\nRIBA Part 3 qualified Architect or CIAT accredited Architectural Technologist\n\n3-5+ years' post qualification experience delivering complex projects\n\nExperience within transportation or rail projects strongly , with exposure to commercial or public sector work beneficial\n\nSolid understanding of the design process from concept through to detailed design and delivery\n\nStrong knowledge of UK Building Regulations\n\nProficiency in Bentley MicroStation and OpenBuildings Designer is essential\n\nExperience using Revit, AutoCAD and visualisation tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Enscape or V-Ray\n\nStrong organisational, communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure\n\nSecurity Clearance\n\nThis role requires BPSS clearance, with the potential for higher clearance if required.
Candidates must be willing and eligible to undergo UK Security Vetting, including meeting UK requirements
