An opportunity has arisen for an Architectural Projects Manager to join a busy capital projects team, leading the architectural design and delivery of a varied portfolio of capital schemes. This role will suit a design-led professional who enjoys operating as the client lead, managing multidisciplinary consultants and ensuring high-quality, compliant design outcomes.You will take projects from early feasibility through to delivery, working across all RIBA stages, with a strong focus on design quality, statutory compliance, sustainability and value for money.Your new role Lead the architectural design and project management of allocated capital projects from inception through to completionAct as client lead for early RIBA stages (0-4), including feasibility, options appraisals, design development and planningManage and coordinate external design consultants to deliver integrated, compliant design solutionsPrepare and review project briefs, specifications, drawings and technical informationEnsure compliance with relevant legislation including Building Safety Act 2022, CDM 2015 and Building RegulationsMonitor design-stage budgets, risks and change controlAdminister JCT/NEC contracts through design and construction stagesEmbed sustainability, accessibility and whole-life value principles into design solutionsProvide professional advice to senior stakeholders and elected members as requiredWhat you'll need to succeed Degree-level qualification in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Construction/Project Management or a related disciplineProfessional membership (e.g. RIBA, ARB, CIAT, CIOB, RICS)Proven experience leading architectural design stages and managing external consultantsStrong knowledge of the RIBA Plan of Work and statutory design frameworksExperience delivering capital projects through planning and building regulationsWorking knowledge of JCT/NEC contractsStrong stakeholder management and communication skillsExperience working within complex, client-side or public-sector environments is highly advantageousWhat you'll get in return A 6-month initial contract with potential to convert to a permanent roleCompetitive daily rate of £350 (in scope of IR35)The opportunity to work on meaningful, design-led capital projectsExposure to senior stakeholders and strategic programmesHybrid working arrangements (subject to project requirements)What you need to do nowIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.If this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion about your career.Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
