Visum Recruitment are delighted to be representing our client, a manufacturer within the industrial power transmission and braking sector, who are seeking an experienced and driven Area Sales Manager to join them on a full-time, permanent basis.


The role of the Area Sales Manager will be to develop new business opportunities and grow existing customer relationships across the South of the UK. You will play a key role in driving revenue growth through customer engagement, enquiry generation, order conversion, and ultimately delivering sustained sales order growth.


Area Sales Manager Job Overview

  • Identify, research, and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Drive enquiry generation and convert opportunities into sales orders.
  • Promote the company’s range of products
  • Conduct on-site and remote customer meetings, providing advice and application support.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from initial enquiry through to quotation, negotiation, and order completion.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure customer requirements are met and projects are delivered successfully.
  • Plan and manage your own diary and territory, operating as a home-based external sales professional.
  • Attend occasional meetings and training sessions at UK offices and European headquarters.
  • Continuously develop product knowledge and sales capability.


Area Sales Manager Job Requirements

  • Experience in B2B technical or industrial sales.
  • Exposure to power transmission products such as couplings, brakes, clutches, or similar would be advantageous.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to negotiate and close deals.
  • Full UK driving licence.


Area Sales Manager Salary & Benefits

  • Salary circa £45,000
  • Bonus scheme (uncapped, typically £5,000–£7,000 OTE)
