Fairhill Medical Practice in Kingston Upon Thames is seeking an experienced Salaried GP to join its caring and supportive team. We require 6 clinical sessions per week, starting ASAP.
Main Duties of the Job
The delivery of appropriate medical care to patients
Prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
Maintaining accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance
Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the workload
Adhering to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
Contribution to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives
Attending and contributing effectively to service/practice meetings as required
Ensuring personal compliance with the appraisal process
Preparing for and completing the revalidation process
Commitment to self-learning and contributing to an ethos of continuing professional development across the service/practice team
About Us
Fairhill is a 3 Partner University Practice based across three sites in the leafy suburb of Kingston Upon Thames. The practice has a list size of over 23,000 patients and includes a branch at Kingston University.

Job Description
The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered patients.
No duty doctor system dedicated clinical sessions to support accurx appointment triage
Monthly clinical meetings and educational meetings with lunch provided
In accordance with the practice rota the post-holder will make self‑available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self‑referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the organisation
Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease‑management protocols, developing care plans for health
Providing counselling and health education
Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate
Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
Collecting data for audit purposes
Engaging with and complying with the collection of data for QOF and enhanced services in consultations
Compiling and issuing computer‑generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand‑written prescriptions whenever possible)
Prescribing in accordance with the locality prescribing formulary whenever this is clinically appropriate
In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
Qualifications
Essential
Full GMC Registration with a license to practice and entry on the GP
Register Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Practice /
Certificate Confirming Eligibility for General Practice Registration (CEGPR), or equivalent included on a medical performers list or eligible
Evidence of continuous professional development
Desirable
Academic excellence (prizes, merits, distinctions etc.), MRCGP diplomas relevant to primary care
Experience
Essential
Completion of a Vocational GP Training scheme within the last 2 years and not have held a salaried GP role previously
Desirable
Certificate in postgraduate clinical training
Background Checks
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
