Art Teacher - Maternity Cover

Location: East London Contract: Maternity Cover | Full-time Start: ASAP / Next Term Pay: MPS / UPS (paid to scale)

A welcoming secondary school in East London is seeking a passionate Art Teacher to cover a maternity leave. The role involves teaching Art across KS3 and KS4, within a supportive department that values strong classroom practice, consistency, and student engagement.

This is a well-structured role with clear schemes of work in place, strong behaviour systems, and excellent departmental support. The school is open to both experienced teachers and confident ECTs.

The role will include:

Teaching Art across KS3 and KS4

Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons

Assessing and tracking pupil progress

Maintaining high standards of behaviour and presentation

Working collaboratively within the Creative Arts department

The ideal candidate:

Holds QTS (or is on track to achieve it)

Has strong subject knowledge in Art

Is confident managing mixed-ability classes

Brings energy, organisation, and reliability to the classroom
