Asbestos Contracts Manager

Location: Yorkshire

Salary: Up to £50,000


We are recruiting an experienced Asbestos Contracts Manager for a well-established environmental consultancy and licenced asbestos removal contractor. As part of this role, you will be responsible for leading the safe, compliant, and commercially successful delivery of asbestos removal projects, overseeing operational teams, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining strong client relationships while driving performance and growth.


The role:

  • Lead the day to day operational delivery of asbestos removal contracts, overseeing planning, resourcing, and programming of works to ensure maximum productivity
  • Ensure full compliance with CAR 2012, HSE guidance, and company procedures, including reviewing and implementing RAMS, Plans of Work, and ASB5 notifications
  • Maintain high safety standards across all regions, supporting audits and incident investigations
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Site Managers, Supervisors, and Operatives, fostering a professional, accountable working culture
  • Act as the key operational contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and managing variations and additional works
  • Collaborate with department heads to implement business measures, drive continuous improvement, and ensure quality and regulatory compliance
  • Take responsibility for operational budgets, monitoring financial performance against agreed budgets and programmes


We’re looking for:

  • Proven experience operating at Contracts Manager level within asbestos removal, with a strong track record of delivering licensed projects safely, on time, and within budget
  • Licensed Contracts Manager training (ARCA) and NVQ Level 4 in Asbestos Removal Management (or equivalent)
  • Strong working knowledge of CAR 2012 and HSE guidance
  • Highly effective communication and organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate teams and engage professionally with clients and stakeholders
  • Full, clean UK driving licence and willingness to travel in line with operational needs
  • Takes ownership of responsibilities, acting with accountability and decisiveness
  • Safety driven mindset combined with strong commercial awareness
  • Maintains a professional, client-focused approach to service delivery
  • Remains calm, resilient, and level headed in high pressure or complex situations
  • Proactive in identifying challenges and implementing practical, solution-focused improvements
  • Air Management Workshop and Personal Air Monitoring Workshop certifications (advantageous)
  • IOSH Managing Safely, CSCS Skills Card, and SSSTS qualifications (advantageous)
