Overview
This established manufacturer of machined parts seeks an experienced, reliable and detail‑focused Assembly and Inspection Production Operative to join a well-organised and highly skilled production team. This role is central to ensuring that assembled components, finished products, and customer orders are processed accurately, efficiently, and with the highest level of care. You will work across multiple stages of the inspection and despatch process, contributing to a safe, controlled, and well‑maintained working environment. working with a range of metals and high‑quality raw materials.
Key Responsibilities
Order Preparation & Dispatch
* Pick and pack daily customer orders using designated storage and racking systems.
* Prepare, package, and label customer orders in line with product specifications and quality requirements.
* Despatch customer products using the correct courier service, ensuring that all documentation is accurate.
* Complete the assembly and product preparation activities by gathering all required components from the correct racking locations.
Assembly & Finishing
* Assemble company products to customer specifications, following technical work instructions, drawings, or build requirements.
* Carry out ink‑marking and product identification tasks with precision and consistency.
* Handle valuable metals and raw materials with care, ensuring correct storage, traceability, and protection from damage.
* Conduct basic quality checks to ensure all items meet required standards before packing.
* Support workflow within the department by assisting with tasks across the department as needed.
Operational Standards & Safety
* Maintain a clean, safe, and well‑organised working environment
* Follow all company health and safety procedures, reporting hazards or issues promptly.
* Using a range of handheld and air tools, equipment, and materials responsibly and in accordance with training.
* Perform additional duties as required to support the effective running of the department.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
* Previous experience in a warehouse, assembly, production, or despatch environment.
* Confident using IT systems for booking, labelling, and basic data entry.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
* A positive team player with good communication skills and a proactive approach.
* High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards.
* Access to your own transport due to location of employer site
Desirable
* Experience within an engineering, manufacturing, or machining environment.
* Familiarity with handling metals, components, or technical materials.
* Understanding of basic quality control or inspection processes.
