We are seeking a passionate and hands-on Assistant Chef Manager to join our vibrant school catering team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced chef who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking for a great worklife balance with no evenings, weekends or school holidays .
The Role As Assistant Chef Manager, you will support the Chef Manager in delivering a high-quality, nutritious and engaging food offer to students and staff. You will play a key role in menu planning, food preparation, staff supervision and ensuring all meals meet both school and dietary standards.
Key Responsibilities Assist in the daily preparation, cooking and service of fresh meals

Support menu development in line with school nutrition guidelines

Supervise and motivate the catering team

Ensure food safety and health & safety standards are adhered to

Assist with stock control, ordering and kitchen administration

Step up to lead the kitchen in the Chef Managers absence

About You Proven experience in a similar Chef or Assistant Chef Manager role

Strong cooking skills with a passion for fresh, wholesome food

Excellent communication and team leadership abilities

Knowledge of health & safety and food hygiene regulations

A positive, proactive attitude with strong organisational skills

An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
