Job Title: Assistant Commercial Manager\n Location: Leeds (Hybrid, 2 days in-office)\n Contract: 6 months with scope to extend\n\nAre you ready to take on a pivotal role in the banking sector? Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Commercial Manager to join their dynamic Modern Workplace team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on multi-million-pound contracts with global Technology Service Providers, influencing the commercial landscape of a major organisation.\n\nAs an Assistant Commercial Manager, you will:\n\nProvide essential support for end-user computing needs within the bank.\nDeliver timely, accurate, and actionable insights to internal and external stakeholders to optimise asset deployment and usage.\nBalance commercial models against global supply chain opportunities and risks.\nOwn and manage commercial budgets, ensuring transparency, tracking against forecasts, and reporting variances.\nSupport the Commercial Lead throughout the lifecycle of contract agreements-from development and negotiation through execution, renewal, and termination.\nAnalyse complex datasets to inform commercial decisions and support financial planning.\nWork closely with procurement, finance, legal, and delivery teams to ensure aligned outcomes.\nSupport vendor performance reviews and assist in benchmarking, renegotiation, and cost-optimisation exercises.\nFacilitate effective communication around contract changes and maintain strong working relationships with third-party suppliers.\nIdentify and mitigate commercial risks while maintaining full compliance with internal governance and external regulations.
\n\nWhat We're Looking For:\n\nCommercial experience in a large or complex organisation, preferably within IT, technology, or financial services.\nDemonstrated budget management or budget ownership responsibility, including forecasting and financial reporting.\nWorking knowledge of Power BI Desktop and other analytical tools for producing insights, dashboards, and reports.\nStrong data analytical skills-able to interpret, manipulate, and present data to support strategic and operational decisions.\nFamiliarity with IT environments, including infrastructure, cloud services, or modern workplace solutions (e.g., Microsoft 365).\nExperience in contract management, commercial governance, and supplier relationship management.\nExposure to sourcing, procurement, or commercial construction is advantageous.\nBasic working knowledge of DAX, Power Query (M), and Excel (advanced functions).\nExperience with ServiceNow or similar IT service management platforms.\nUnderstanding of operational process mapping, cost modelling, and reporting development.\nAbility to manage stakeholders at all levels and communicate complex information clearly and confidently.\nA proactive, solutions-focused approach and ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. \n\nApplication Process:\n To apply, please submit your CV and a cover letter detailing your relevant experience and why you are the perfect fit for this role.\n\nPlease be advised if you haven't heard from us within 48 hours then unfortunately your application has not been successful on this occasion, we may however keep your details on file for any suitable future vacancies and contact you accordingly.\n\nPontoon is an employment consultancy.
