We're working with a well-established consultancy delivering one of the UK's most significant sustainable estate transformation programmes. They're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Design Manager to join their award-winning team working under a global contract.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a long-term programme that's reshaping the future of the built environment, with project values totalling over £80 million annually. The scope spans new build developments, civil infrastructure, retail upgrades, energy efficiency initiatives and hydrogen production facilities - all part of a major multinational energy client's estate strategy.
The Role
As Assistant Design Manager, you'll support the design management team in delivering high-quality solutions across all stages of design and construction. You'll work closely with internal teams, consultants, contractors and stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination, timely delivery, and technical excellence.
This role suits someone self-motivated, relationship-driven and keen to grow within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support the management of the design process from concept to construction.
Liaise with consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to coordinate and deliver design information on time.
Assist in reviewing drawings, specifications and design documentation.
Maintain design trackers, schedules and records for governance and reporting.
Attend design and coordination meetings, take minutes and ensure actions are followed up.
Support value engineering and design change processes.
Contribute to meeting project KPIs and ensuring quality across all deliverables.
Monitor multiple projects at varying stages of design.
Maintain excellent planning and organisational skills with attention to detail.Skills & Experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working in a multi-disciplinary project environment.
Interest in progressing towards Chartership (e.g., APM, RICS, CIOB, ICE).
Understanding or interest in emerging technologies within the energy or infrastructure sector.
Logical and analytical thinking to resolve complex issues.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, OneNote, Teams, SharePoint).
UK travel required (excluding Northern Ireland) - a full UK driving licence is essential.What's on Offer
