Assistant Estimator - Tier 2 Main Contractor | Kent | £55,000 Package + Hybrid Working

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established Tier 2 Main Contractor based in Kent who are looking to appoint an Assistant Estimator to join their growing commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a reputable contractor delivering a diverse range of projects across the South East.

The Role:

The following information aims to provide potential candidates with a better understanding of the requirements for this role.
Working closely with the senior estimating team, you will support the full tendering process from initial enquiry through to final submission. You'll gain exposure to a variety of sectors including commercial, education, residential, and mixed-use developments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting in the preparation of detailed cost estimates and tender submissions

• Analysing drawings, specifications, and project documentation

• Obtaining and reviewing subcontractor and supplier quotations

• Supporting value engineering and cost planning exercises

• Maintaining strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders

Requirements:

• Previous experience in an estimating or commercial role (contractor or subcontractor background considered)

• Relevant qualification in Construction, Quantity Surveying, or similar (preferred)

• Strong attention to detail and good numerical skills

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Ambition to progress within a main contractor environment
