Assistant Estimator

Tradeline are currently working on behalf of a well-established prime residential contractor based in Middlesex who specialise in high-end refurbishment and bespoke new-build projects across London and the Home Counties.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint an ambitious Assistant Estimator to join their commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with early-stage estimating or quantity surveying experience who is looking to build a long-term career within the super-prime residential sector.

The Opportunity

You will be supporting an experienced Senior Estimator on complex, design-led residential refurbishment schemes. Projects typically range from substantial private residences to architecturally bespoke refurbishments finished to an exceptional standard.

This role offers real exposure, responsibility, and a clear progression route within a respected contractor.

Key Responsibilities

Assisting in the preparation of detailed cost estimates and tender submissions

*

Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation

*

Carrying out take-offs and preparing measured quantities

*

Sending out subcontractor and supplier enquiries

*

Analysing and levelling subcontractor returns

*

Supporting value engineering exercises

*

Assisting in compiling tender reports and cost breakdowns

*

Attending site visits and pre-tender meetings where required

Ideal background:

*

1–3 years’ experience in estimating or quantity surveying

*

Experience within residential or refurbishment projects (preferred)

*

Strong Excel skills and numerical ability

*

Highly organised with strong attention to detail

*

Ambitious and keen to progress within the prime residential market

Construction-related qualifications are beneficial but not essential if you have relevant experience.
