Are you a gamer with events experience, interested in working with some of the biggest talent, publishers and developers in the industry? Then we’re looking for you to join our team as an Assistant Event Manager.

 

We’re looking for someone who lives and breathes gaming – you’re a tech wizard ready to work with consoles, PCs, digital screens, livestreams and more, able to quickly troubleshoot any tech issues and assist clients with your deep understanding of video games. You’re a fast learner who can quickly find your way around new games and software and can train your colleagues to do the same.

 

You’ll be joining a tight-knit team of gaming industry pros and working to deliver events, brand activations, tournaments and more at the UK’s ultimate gaming destination – Virgin Media Gamepad. You’ll be the go-to person for setting up live-streams, installing new gaming tech, creating sleek & stylish event recaps and assisting with day-to-day running of the space.

 

You’ll need exceptional customer service skills to provide unforgettable experiences to our clients and guests. You’ll be assisting in setting up all sorts of games across a variety of consoles/PC, and you’ll lead by example for our team of brand ambassadors who you will be managing.

 

This position involves a mix of weekday, evening, and weekend shifts shared amongst the team. Our vision is to make Virgin Media Gamepad the ultimate gaming destination in Europe, and we need an ambitious and passionate individual to join us on this journey.

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Daily management of the space, overseeing technical/gaming aspects and addressing issues proactively

 

  • Using your strong knowledge of tech to assist with live-stream setup, gameplay recordings, podcasts, filming etc. This is a key part of your role

 

  • Building and managing relationships for ASG with our clients, partners, senior stakeholders and agencies

 

  • Maintaining systems within the space, ensuring things run smoothly on the floor, providing feedback and improvements to enhance the space

 

  • Assisting with off-site events and other ASG clients when required

 

  • Managing a team of 40+ staff by conducting staff appraisals, assisting them with gaming/tech/customer service, acknowledging and rewarding great work from your staff

 

  • Using a highly detailed and organised system to store files, stats, creative resources etc.

 

  • Delivering exceptional customer service and upholding company values of integrity, innovation, teamwork, and accountability


Knowledge, skills and experience required:

 

  • Top-notch tech skills, able to troubleshoot any new problems across a wide array of tech

 

  • Genuine passion for games, with knowledge of the gaming industry and trends

 

  • Exceptional customer service skills, driven to deliver the best experience for our guests

 

  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities

 

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

 

  • Creative-minded, able to pull together sleek decks & presentations following brand guidelines

 

  • Strong knowledge of Excel, OneDrive, Canva a plus
