Assistant Finance Business Partner – Development Location: Greater Manchester Hours of work: 35 per week Closing date: 27 February 2026 Interviews: Early March 2026 At MSV Housing we're committed to making sure our customers have good quality safe homes and our Assistant Finance Business Partners are key to making this happen. We are looking to recruit an experienced individual to join our established team. Reporting to our Senior Finance Business Partner, the Assistant Finance Business Partner – Development supports effective financial planning, forecasting and performance management, ensuring accurate and timely management and statutory accounts. Working closely with Finance Business Partners and budget holders, it provides trusted insights that highlight risks and opportunities and drive value for money. It also ensures full regulatory compliance and supports MSV's corporate plan by helping maintain a financially strong, well‑governed organisation with a customer‑focused finance team. In addition, we are looking for candidates that have a passion to advocate on behalf of people and communities. Responsibilities
Support the financial performance management of the development programme through accurate monthly reporting, cash flow forecasting, scheme appraisals and maintenance of key financial systems. Deliver timely management accounts, tailored reporting and value‑added financial analysis that highlight risks, opportunities and support strong financial decision‑making across the business. Maintain accurate fixed asset and grant records, produce year‑end notes and disclosures, and complete reconciliations to support statutory accounts, external audit and financial compliance requirements. Contribute to financial planning by producing development spend forecasts and scheme information for senior management to inform long‑term financial modelling. Ensure high standards of financial governance through accurate transaction recording, strong data quality, adherence to financial regulations, robust internal controls, and effective support for audits and compliance submissions.
Qualifications
Part‑qualified Accountant or qualified AAT or equivalent through relevant training/experience. Experience of working collaboratively with multi‑disciplinary teams. Ability to analyse complex data to produce reports and deliver information to a range of audiences. Experience of providing appropriate financial information. Strong IT skills including use of Excel, knowledge and use of finance and housing management systems. Interpersonal and presentation skills to enable effective communication in a variety of settings and audiences.
