Assistant General Manager

CLAP London is looking for a strong, floor-based Assistant General Manager to support the day-to-day operation of our premium, fast-paced restaurant. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with proven experience in high-end hospitality, a strong floor presence, and the ability to lead busy services while maintaining exceptional guest standards.
Responsibilities
Support the General Manager in the daily running of the restaurant and deputise in their absence. Lead from the floor during service, ensuring a smooth, energetic and guest-focused operation at all times. Deliver exceptional guest experiences and handle feedback or service recovery professionally and efficiently. Train, motivate and support the front-of-house team to maintain high service and presentation standards. Assist with shift organisation, team briefings, rota support and day-to-day staffing coordination. Monitor service flow, standards, cleanliness and compliance across the restaurant. Support performance targets, labour control, sales delivery and overall operational efficiency. Work closely with the senior management team and kitchen to ensure consistency across all areas of the business.
Requirements
Previous experience as an Assistant General Manager, Senior Restaurant Manager or similar senior front-of-house role in a fast-paced premium restaurant is essential. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, coach and develop a high-performing team. Excellent floor presence and confidence leading busy, high-volume services. A calm, professional and solutions-focused approach under pressure. Strong guest focus, attention to detail and passion for hospitality. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and peak trading periods.
