Role Overview
\n
We are seeking a proactive Assistant Health & Safety Advisor to support the delivery of a robust health and safety framework across our London civil engineering operations.
\n
This role will partner with operational and corporate stakeholders to ensure legal compliance, strengthen governance, and embed a positive safety culture. The successful candidate will provide pragmatic advice, lead risk management activity, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

Key Responsibilities
\n
\n Provide expert advice on UK health and safety legislation and best practice.
\n
Support the implementation of the Health & Safety strategy and improvement plans.
\n
Conduct and review risk assessments across office and operational environments.
\n
Lead investigations into incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
\n
Carry out audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
\n
Monitor KPIs and produce clear reports for senior leadership.
\n
Support contractor management, fire safety, and emergency preparedness arrangements.
\n
Deliver training, briefings, and awareness sessions to promote a strong safety culture.
\n
\n
About You
\n
\n NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
\n
Experience in a Health & Safety Advisor role within a corporate or commercial environment.
\n
Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation.
\n
Confident conducting audits, investigations, and risk assessments.
\n
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
\n
IOSH membership (or working towards) desirable.
\n
