This exciting new position as an Assistant HR Business Partner is a 12-week contract that offers the opportunity to become fully involved in HR operations. In this role, you will provide support and assistance to the HR Operations team, helping to bridge the gap between HR strategy and operational delivery. This opportunity would be ideal for someone with previous local council or education sector HR experience who is looking to join a team on a short-term basis and make a real difference; not only to the team, but also to the people who live in the borough.

Role Overview:

Full Time Monday – Friday 37 hours per week £27.00 per hour Onsite Parking Hybrid working pattern Role Responsibilities:

Support, coach, challenge and empower directorate line managers in effectively managing people-related issues Build and maintain positive relationships with local trade unions and support discussions where required Screen all vacancies and identify potential redeployment opportunities for existing employees where appropriate Undertake job evaluations using benchmarking data to ensure fair, consistent and objective assessments Ensure that HR queries and tasks are directed to the appropriate HR team or specialist when required Contribute to the ongoing development and continuous improvement of the HR team Demonstrate strong communication skills when working with colleagues across the organisation and with external council stakeholders The idea candidate for the role:

CIPD qualified, or currently working towards it, with experience of working within a complex organisation A proven track record of providing clear, balanced advice and guidance on HR matters Experience of working successfully with senior managers on complex HR issues Significant experience of casework management, with a solid understanding of employee relations and employment practices to effectively manage employee issues Previous experience working as an HR Assistant within a local council or school environment Like minded roles: HR Advisor, Senior HR Advisor, HR Officer, HR Consultant, People Partner / Junior People Partner, Employee Relations Advisor
