Assistant Management Accountant – High-Growth Tech Scale-Up – 6 Month FTC – London (Hybrid)
Better Placed is partnering with a high-growth, globally recognised tech business to support the hire of an Assistant Management Accountant on a 6-month fixed-term contract with the opportunity to be extended / go perm.

Operating within a collaborative and high-performing finance function, this position provides the chance to build hands-on experience across management accounting, reporting, and business partnering, with strong visibility across the wider organisation.
Role Overview
Reporting into the Finance Manager, this role will support the delivery of accurate financial reporting, month-end processes, and ongoing commercial insight across the business.
You’ll work closely with stakeholders across finance and the wider business, helping to ensure financial information is robust, timely, and supports effective decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts, including P&L and balance sheet analysis
- Assisting with month-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines
- Producing variance analysis, identifying key drivers and trends across revenue and costs
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, working with stakeholders to gather inputs
- Reconciling balance sheet accounts and investigating discrepancies where required
- Assisting with accruals, prepayments, and journal postings
- Partnering with non-finance teams to improve understanding of financial performance
- Supporting process improvements and helping to drive efficiencies within reporting
- Assisting with ad hoc analysis and reporting requests from senior stakeholders
Candidate Profile
- Part-qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA or studier)
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial data
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage non-finance stakeholders
- Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (total comp circa £45,000 including bonus)
