Clarke Energy is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our dedicated Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your accounting career within a global engineering organisation known for its integrity, innovation, and commitment to quality. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering accurate management accounts and supporting essential financial processes across our UK operations.
Key Responsibilities
Management Accounts & Financial Support
Assist with the production of monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts.
Prepare intercompany reconciliations, including loan revaluations and commission calculations.
Produce monthly P&L movement analysis and support the reconciliation of accruals, prepayments, and service-related items.
Support the preparation of month-end balance sheet reconciliations and associated reporting (debtors, creditors, stock).
Update exchange rates within the finance system and ensure accuracy across related reporting.
Financial Planning, Reporting & Compliance
Contribute to the production of cashflow forecasts and tax-related submissions, including PSA information.
Ensure all financial data is prepared accurately and on time in line with internal controls and audit requirements.
Support continuous improvements in financial processes and uphold high standards of documentation and reporting integrity.
Team & Administrative Support
Work closely with colleagues across Finance to support peak workloads and deadlines.
Provide administrative support where required to ensure the smooth running of finance operations.
Adhere to all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards relevant to the role.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
AAT Level 4 qualified or qualified by experience.
Strong Microsoft Excel and general IT skills.
Good working knowledge of accounting systems (experience with Navision 4ps is an advantage).
Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
Ability to work to strict deadlines with well-organised workload management.
A proactive approach with a genuine desire to learn and develop professionally.
