We are seeking a Consulting Assistant Manager in Public Sector Consulting based in Leeds, Manchester, and Sheffield.

Responsibilities
Help our public sector clients deliver modern public services that are sustainable, people‑centred, data‑driven, and digitally enabled.
Work as part of an engagement team across local government, health, central government, and arms‑length bodies, supporting capability areas such as operations design, financial transformation, digital delivery, governance, strategy development, and major programme delivery.
Develop sector and technical knowledge and apply it to complex client scenarios, bringing a unique perspective.
Play a pivotal role in the delivery of engagements, liaising regularly with senior stakeholders.
Listen actively, ask probing questions and surface innovative solutions.
Identify, suggest, and drive practice development initiatives, including business development, marketing, and consulting toolkit improvement.
Take responsibility for delivering high‑quality deliverables, demonstrating excellent time management and communication skills.
Contribute to a positive, entrepreneurial culture within the team.
Understand Public Sector Consulting services and Grant Thornton’s wider consulting capabilities to support clients across areas.
Build a strong network of contacts within the firm and with partners across the public sector.
Minimum Qualifications
Professional qualification such as ACA, ICAS, CA, ACCA, or CIPFA (other appropriate qualifications considered).
Extensive experience using Microsoft Office applications, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
Excellent communication and presentation skills across a variety of media.
