About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Merchandising Manager, the Assistant Merchandiser will play a key role in managing stock availability and supporting purchasing and forecasting activities across all channels and international markets. This role is highly operational and analytical, working closely with suppliers, supply chain, and internal teams to ensure optimal stock levels, on-time deliveries, and strong availability while minimising excess stock risk.

This position is ideal for someone early in their merchandising career who enjoys working with data, systems, and suppliers, and is passionate about design, data-driven decision-making, and working in a fast-paced international environment.

More concretely this role will be responsible for:


Stock Management & Availability

  • Monitor stock levels across retail, wholesale, e-commerce, and trade channels to ensure optimal availability
  • Track sales, weeks of cover, intake, and stock ageing, highlighting risks and opportunities
  • Identify and flag potential stock shortages or excess ahead of trading peaks and launches

Forecasting & Planning Support

  • Support sales and stock forecasting at product and category level across multiple channels
  • Analyse historical sales, trends, and seasonality to inform future forecasts
  • Assist in maintaining forecasts in planning systems and spreadsheets
  • Support re-forecasting in response to changes in demand, trading performance, or supply constraints

Purchasing & Supplier Coordination

  • Support purchase order creation, management, and tracking with global suppliers
  • Monitor order confirmations, production timelines, and delivery dates
  • Work closely with suppliers and internal supply chain teams to chase deliveries and resolve issues
  • Flag risks to availability such as delays, MOQ constraints, or capacity issues
  • Support cost price updates, lead time management, and supplier data accuracy

Product & Range Support

  • Support the management of core and seasonal product lines, ensuring continuity of key ranges
  • Maintain accurate product, pricing, lead time, and MOQ data across systems
  • Assist with new product launches by supporting initial buys and availability planning
  • Assist in building and maintaining seasonal product ranges and core lines

Reporting & Analysis

  • Produce regular stock and availability reports for merchandising and wider business teams
  • Analyse variances between forecast, intake, and actual sales
  • Support post-season analysis to improve future buying and forecasting decisions

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Range, Planning, Supply Chain, Retail, Wholesale, E-commerce, and Trade teams
  • Support commercial decisions with clear stock and availability insight
  • Liaise with international markets and distribution partners as required


About You

We are looking for an ambitious early careers individual with some previous experience in merchandising, planning or supply chain. They should have a can-do and proactive mindset as well as commercial acumen and attention to detail. More concretely:


Essential

  • 1–2 years’ experience in a merchandising, planning, or supply chain support role
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with a high level of accuracy
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas)
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple timelines
  • Commercial mindset with a problem-solving approach

Desirable

  • Experience working with suppliers or production teams
  • Exposure to forecasting, purchasing, or stock planning processes
  • Experience in multi-channel or international businesses
  • Knowledge of ERP, merchandising, or planning systems (Nav, Jet Reports and CUBE beneficial)
  • Passion for product, design, and the creative industries
