Assistant Principal Curriculum: English and ESOL, Maths, Arts and Social Sciences

This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for leading and managing curriculum teams to deliver high-quality inclusive teaching, learning and assessment. You’ll drive performance, innovation and growth, ensuring your faculty is forward-thinking, responsive to local and national priorities, and consistently delivering strong outcomes for learners.
What you’ll do:
• Lead, inspire and drive curriculum teams to achieve high performance and outstanding outcomes
• Drive excellence in Teaching, Learning and Assessment through strong quality assurance and coaching
• Lead curriculum planning to ensure provision is ambitious, agile and aligned to employer and stakeholder needs
• Take ownership of recruitment targets, achievement rates, attendance and KPIs
• Use data intelligently to inform decision-making and ensure accurate achievement predictions and timely learner interventions
• Manage budgets, staffing deployment and resources effectively
• Embed a culture of continuous improvement across your faculty
• Develop strong partnerships with employers, awarding bodies and external stakeholders
• Work collaboratively with Finance, Business Development, Marketing, MIS and cross-college teams to maximise learner experience and growth
• Teach within your subject area, modelling high standards of professional practice
What we’re looking for:
• A proven curriculum leader with significant experience in post-16 education
• A strong track record of improving teaching quality and learner outcomes
• Experience of leading teams, managing performance and driving quality improvement
• Confidence when interpreting complex data to inform strategy and operational planning and effectiveness?
• Experience of effectively managing budgets and deploying resources effectively
• A strategic thinker who can lead change positively and effectively
• A visible, values-driven leader who champions excellence and collaboration
This position will have strategic oversight of English and ESOL, Maths, Performing Arts, Film & TV, Art and Design, Hair & Beauty, Animal Management, Sport, Public Services, Health & Social Care, Early Years, supporting Heads of Faculty to drive quality, performance and learner outcomes.
