The Opportunity

The Home Solutions (HS) Assistant Product Manager will play a key role within the Product Management team conducting the core business related analysis on market, competitor, products for a better ranging, channel strategy and marketing needs of the business by becoming an expert in all things related to LG’s HS product offering.

Mainly supporting the Product Director, you will get a chance to gain further understanding on this industry and product planning and expand your technical expertise.

As an APM, you will be expected to grow as a junior product manager in the future, acquiring a various aspect of knowledge and skill, being able to discuss product roadmaps, strategies and lead the strategic direction with sales team.

This role will expect you to be a fast learner, proactive at finding out more about the industry and product and business acumen. You will be expected to lead all related communications with stakeholders such as HQ team, Sales team, Marketing colleagues and Demand Planning team.



Your Role & Responsibilities

Product, Market and Industry expertise

  • Create and build up Product Road map with Product Director and HQ based on market analysis skills
  • Sell-out driven working to grow sell-in (Price, Margin, Cost structure understanding)


Co-managing the product roadmap with Product Director

  • Support Product Directors with localising and managing the local level product roadmaps. Organise and communicate the various documentation ensuring latest versions are communicated to wider business and understood fully
  • Take the lead on creating and presenting the LG UK Product Roadmaps in front of internal and external stake holders being able to take customers on an ‘LG way’ journey
  • Manage the distribution and management of information between internal stake holders (LG HQ, LG R&D, agencies) and external stake holders (customers, press and industry bodies)


Customer support and Sales Development

  • Attend ranging and product selection meetings supporting Account Managers and Product Directors in meetings


Marketing support and guidance

  • Present product roadmap and product strategy internally to Marketing team emphasising USP’s and key technology trends


Competitor analysis and supporting the commercial teams

  • Deep dive analysis into competitor product line ups, understanding core technologies, marketing approaches and fundamental USP’s vs. LG product line up
  • Create product comparisons and side by sides vs. LG products highlighting areas of strength and weaknesses


Other responsibilities

  • Work with other LG stakeholders including LG HQ, EHQ to align the strategy





Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline (Marketing, Product Development, Product Design) or equivalent product based working experience


Experience

  • Advanced in Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of databases and queries
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a related business environment – ideally consumer electronics, is preferable.
  • Due to daily communication with HQ, the candidate would have to be fluent in verbal and written communication in English and Korean. This will include translating business information from HQ in English to share with the internal Sales & Marketing team
  • Pro-active and confident liaising with both colleagues internally and external stakeholders
  • Highly organised with strong administration background
  • Energetic self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision
  • Highly focused and capable of sustaining a fast pace in a dynamic environment
  • Able to constructively challenge and improve existing practice
  • Completer finisher, able to be resilient to drive issues through to a successful customer-focused solution
  • Good judgement, able to make practical and realistic decisions within scope of responsibility
  • Proven commercial acumen and ability to achieve commercial objectives
