Premier Recruitment Group are working in partnership with a well established food production company in Woolwich to recruit an Assistant Production Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for someone from a food manufacturing background who already has leadership experience.

You will support the Production Manager in overseeing daily operations within a busy manufacturing environment, supervising a team of 10+ staff while ensuring production targets, quality standards, and compliance requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities

Supervising and supporting a production team of 10+ staff
Allocating daily work across the production area
Monitoring work in progress and planning daily production activities
Managing staff performance, attendance, and motivation
Ordering production consumables, plant, and equipment
Booking transport for UK deliveries
Working closely with the Production Manager to ensure goods are produced on time for dispatch
Liaising with Logistics, Quality Control, and Stock departments

Requirements

Previous experience within the food manufacturing industry is essential
Proven leadership or supervisory experience within production
Knowledge of BRC, HACCP, and HSE standards
Strong communication and organisational skills
Experience collaborating across multiple departments
FLT licence or in-house licence
Good attention to detail with a logical and practical approach
