This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative Production team within a company that values continuous improvement and professional development.This role offers more than just a position as an Assistant Production Manager, it provides a genuine opportunity to build a long-term career, develop industry expertise, and make a meaningful impact from day one.Key ResponsibilitiesAllocate and distribute work across the Production areaMonitor work-in-progress (WIP) and assess daily production capacityOrder production consumables and essential suppliesArrange plant and equipment (e.g. FLTs, pumps, packaging)Coordinate and book transport for UK deliveriesWork closely with the Production Manager to ensure timely completion of goods for dispatchLiaise with Logistics, Quality Control, and Stock departments to ensure smooth operationsSupport the management of production staff, including performance, motivation, and attendanceCandidate RequirementsProven experience within a food manufacturing environmentExperience supervising or managing staff, with readiness to step into a junior management role (10+ direct reports)Strong people management skills, including performance and attendance managementExperience with BRC, HACCP, and HSE standards and auditsExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to collaborate effectively across departmentsStrong attention to detail with a logical and pragmatic approach to problem-solvingValid FLT licence and experienceGCSEs (or equivalent) including minimum Grade 5/6 in English and MathsWhat's on OfferCompetitive salary of £42,000 per annumStable Monday to Friday working hours (8am - 4pm)Opportunity to join a growing and reputable businessSupportive team environment with opportunities for career progressionHands-on role with real impact from the outsetJBRP1_UKTJ
