Job Description\n\nJob Title: Assistant Project Manager\n\nReports to: Project Manager\n\nBased at: Derby\n\nMobility/travel: Occasional\n\nSalary: £Competitive\n\nPrimary Purpose of the Role:\n\nTo support the Project Manager in planning, execution and monitoring projects, which includes administrative tasks like scheduling and reporting, coordinating with stakeholders, tracking budgets and managing project documents.\n\nTo carry out the role whilst ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times. Ensuring that high levels of productivity, attendance and customer satisfaction are maintained at all times.\n\nKey Duties and Responsibilities:\n\nYour duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:\n\nProject Planning and Execution:\n\nAssist with Project Planning, Development and Implementation\n\nControl or Manage Smaller Projects or Specific phases of larger Projects.\n\nStakeholder Communication:\n\nLiaise with Stakeholders to understand and communicate project needs, goals and progress.\n\nAdministrative Tasks:\n\nIncluding (but not limited to) setting up meetings, preparing Invoices and quotations, monitoring and ensuring individual project financials are up to date and on target, Managing Operational Systems day to day (Trello, ERP systems etc).\n\nProgress Tracking and Reporting:\n\nMonitoring and Reporting on Project Progress including; Scheduling, Budgets and Resource Allocation. Often using Project Management Software (Microsoft Projects, Jira, Power BI etc).\n\nDocumentation & Organisation:\n\nMaintain and organise all individual project documents, plans and reports.\n\nProblem Solving:\n\nHelp to identify risks and issues within the individual customer projects, resolve project challenges and ensure projects stay on track.\n\nTeam Support:\n\nCoordinate with team members, stakeholders, contractors and vendors / suppliers to ensure a stable and efficient operational project.\n\nGeneral:\n\nTo work in a manner that reflects the Company values; deliver results, customer focus, insist on highest standards, ownerships and accountability teamwork and to celebrate .\n\nProviding high standards of quality whilst promoting, building and maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues, suppliers and customers.\n\nIdentifying training needs relevant to the job and participating in any training and development as required.\n\nMaintaining high levels of personal motivation, attendance and conduct.\n\nKey Relationships:\n\nProject Manager / Project Team\n\nRail Divisional Director\n\nRail Divisional Sales Manager\n\nSales Team\n\nOperations Team\n\nCustomers / Suppliers\n\nPerson Specification:\n\nEssential:\n\nExperience in project planning, execution and delivery.\n\nExperience in liaising with internal and external stakeholders.\n\nBe comfortable with drafting reports, quotations, emails and other related documentation.\n\nStrong organisational and time management skills.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\n\nAbility to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously and work to tight deadlines.\n\nPC/IT literate and be proficient in using standard Microsoft Office programs.\n\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a team.\n\nEager to learn and develop within a project environment.\n\nWilling to undertake any relevant training/qualification to professionally develop.\n\nGood commercial awareness.\n\nDesirable:\n\nPrevious experience of working within the Rail Industry.\n\nPrevious experience in a Project Management role.\n\nTo hold a Project Management Qualification (APM, APFW, Prince2, Agile PM, MSP) etc.\n\nExperience in using project management and collaboration tools (e.g.
