Job Description

Assistant Project Manager – Construction Consultancy

London

£40,000 – £45,000 + benefits

I’m working with a well-established, independent construction consultancy that’s looking to appoint an Assistant Project Manager to join its growing London team.

This opportunity would suit someone already working within a construction consultancy or client-side environment who’s looking to step into larger, more complex projects while gaining greater exposure to clients and senior stakeholders.

You’ll support the delivery of schemes across the industrial, data centre and commercial sectors, working closely with experienced Project Managers and Directors. The role offers hands-on involvement across the full project lifecycle, including project planning, stakeholder coordination, reporting, governance and NEC contract administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting Project Managers in the successful delivery of projects from inception through to completion
  • Assisting with project planning, programme management and monitoring project progress against key milestones
  • Coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors and wider project stakeholders
  • Preparing project reports, meeting minutes and maintaining accurate project documentation
  • Supporting the management of project governance, risk registers and change control processes
  • Assisting with procurement processes and NEC contract administration where required
  • Attending site meetings and contributing to project delivery discussions
  • Ensuring projects are delivered in line with programme, budget and quality expectations

What They’re Looking For

  • 1–3 years’ experience within a construction consultancy, project management consultancy or client-side project environment
  • A construction-related degree (Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying or similar)
  • Experience supporting the delivery of construction projects and working with clients and consultant teams
  • Exposure to project reporting, coordination and stakeholder management
  • An organised and proactive approach with strong communication skills
  • Ambition to progress towards professional chartership (RICS, APM or similar)

What’s on Offer

  • Exposure to high-profile and technically interesting projects
  • A collaborative and supportive consultancy environment
  • Clear progression with mentoring from experienced Project Managers and Directors
  • Competitive salary and benefits package

Please note: this is not an entry-level role or a position suited to those looking to transition from unrelated sectors. Prior experience within a construction consultancy or professional services environment is essential.

If you’re looking to join a consultancy that offers strong project exposure, clear progression and a supportive team culture, feel free to get in touch.
