Bennett & Game are delighted to be working with a well-established regional contractor based in the Bristol area, who are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team on a permanent basis.
The business has a turnover of circa £8M - £10M and delivers a diverse range of projects across commercial, industrial and public sector sectors, typically within a 1-hour radius of Bristol. Schemes range from £500k to £2.5M and include both groundworks packages and commercial build projects.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor Salary & Benefits
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 DOE

Assistant Quantity Surveyor Job Overview
Manage the commercial aspects of multiple groundworks and commercial build projects (£500k - £2.5M)
Preparation and submission of interim valuations and final accounts
Procurement and negotiation of subcontract packages
Management of subcontractor accounts, variations and payments
Cost planning, forecasting and monthly reporting
Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
Liaise with clients, consultants and supply chain partners
Work closely with Site Managers and Directors to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budgetAssistant Quantity Surveyor Job Requirements
Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor within a contractor environment
Groundworks experience essential
Experience working on projects between £500k - £2.5M advantageous
Strong understanding of JCT contracts
Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills
Excellent communication and organisational ability
Full UK driving licence
